How to Write a Diamante Poem What is a Diamante? A diamante – pronounced dee-uh-MAHN-tay – is an unrhymed seven-line poem. The beginning and ending lines are the shortest, while the lines in the middle are longer, giving diamante poems a diamond shape. “Diamante” is the Italian word for diamond, so this poetic form is named for this.

• Write your heading in MLA format.
• Use your corrected rough draft to complete your final draft.
• Prepare a neat, creative, and attractive poem, assuring that your grammar and spelling are correct.
• Complete the poem either in your own neat handwriting, or complete it on the computer with a creative font.
• Poem must be written in the shape of a diamond, and have a drawn or printed diamond enclosing the poem.Add 4 pictures to your poem, (outside of the diamond shape,) illustrating your positive personality traits. Use clipart, google images, or your own artistic colorful drawings (no stick figures). ** I would not draw your pictures unless you are, in fact, “artístico.”
